Meet Our August Students of the Month: Chloe & Savannah

Students ofthe month

At Busy Kids Do Piano, I often hear the question: “Is your program just for little kids?” The answer is a resounding no! While many families join us when their children are just beginning their musical journey, Busy Kids Do Piano continues to support students as they grow—musically and developmentally. In fact, some of our most committed and accomplished pianists are now in their teens!

That’s why I’m so excited to introduce you to our August Students of the Month: Chloe and Savannah. Both girls are 14 years old and have been learning with Busy Kids Do Piano for over five years. Their stories offer a wonderful glimpse into what consistent piano study can look like for older students.

🎵 Chloe’s Story

Chloe first enrolled in BKDP because her family loved the idea of affordable, at-home lessons. Homeschooling gave her the flexibility to practice after schoolwork, and her love of music quickly took root. Today, Chloe often practices 1–2 hours a day—and still appreciates the flexibility that online lessons provide.

Chloe Otto

“What I love best about the program is that I can watch the lesson when I have time, pause or rewind if I need to, and listen to the piece before playing it myself.”

Chloe’s musical progress is inspiring: she now plays hymns during church services and chooses music that challenges and excites her. Her parents shared this thoughtful reflection:

“Our daughter has learned to play church hymns, movie scores, and other pieces she enjoys. The teaching style and structure have helped her build real proficiency and a love of music.”

Chloe’s advice to new families?

“This program teaches the foundational skills to play piano well—and those skills transfer to all kinds of music!”

🎶 Savannah’s Story

Savannah’s journey began after watching a cousin enjoy the BKDP program. Her parents explored other options, but ultimately chose Busy Kids Do Piano because they wanted something with a personal feel—one that offered encouragement and connection along the way.

Savannah Burton

Savannah started from scratch, with no music experience, but quickly began progressing through the lessons. Today, she’s confidently selecting music she loves—especially Disney songs!

“Even though it’s a video-based program, Savannah really feels a connection with Ms. Carly,” her dad shared. “The personal feedback on performance pieces, reinforcement messages, and monthly challenges keep her engaged—even when motivation is tough.”

Their biggest tip? Let kids play music that excites them.

“Choose songs that feel relevant and fun. It makes all the difference.”
